How does the design process transpire?
First, the clients and I sit down to establish home style
preferences. Bringing in photos of interior and exterior styles and
features that you like is helpful in determining your desires. Please also
refer to the Design Process outlined in the
Design Gallery page. |

|
How do we ensure
that the project remains on budget?
Budget maintenance occurs largely
through a team effort between the builder, the clients, and I to keep
costs within a certain parameter. |
|
|
How are design
fees determined? Design
fees are determined on a square footage basis, based on home location,
complexity, and size. For more information on
fees, please contact our office to schedule
an appointment. |

|
How do we know
what products to choose?
Mackprang Design will assist you in the product choices, based on
knowledge of climate and environment for Central Oregon and other areas
throughout the Northwest. |
|
|
Can you help in the
selection of a building site?
Yes. We assist with this
request frequently, because we can help in the pre-evaluation of your
building site, discuss design goals, and help to determine your choice in
sites. |

What are the
differences between a Designer and an Architect?
Designers typically design single
family residential projects, whereas architects typically design
commercial projects. The vast majority of homes in the Northwest are
designed by designers. We provide the same materials--often more--as
architects, but generally do not supervise the construction. Given these
slight differences, designers' fees are usually less expensive. |
|
|
What types of
homes do you design, and do you design commercial projects?
We are quite versatile in
our home designs, which range from Northwest to Contemporary to
Traditional plans. We do not normally do commercial projects. |
|
|
How long has your
company been in business?
We have designed homes
for nearly 30 years. |
